Description
Emma Gannon
has built a career on doing things differently.
Sunday Times
bestselling author, award-winning podcaster, and one of Substack’s most successful UK writers, Emma has cultivated a global readership by speaking directly to her audience, on her own terms. Now she’s breaking the mould again with her new book
A YEAR OF NOTHING
, published in partnership with Whitefox.
Join us for an exclusive in conversation event where Emma will sit down with
Molly Flatt
, novelist, Comment Editor at The Bookseller, and FutureBook conference programmer, to discuss the power of creative independence, the rise of Substack as a platform for serious writers, and why authors no longer need to wait for traditional publishing’s permission to tell their stories.
Whitefox
empowers authors like Emma to publish with complete creative freedom, retaining full ownership of their rights, and creating books that meet the highest industry standards. Together with
Collective Wisdom
, who specialise in helping authors build their profiles and connect with readers, this event will inspire and equip writers ready to carve their own publishing future.
At the heart of the evening is
A YEAR OF NOTHING
, Emma’s deeply personal exploration of switching off, slowing down, and rediscovering meaning in life’s simplest pleasures. Across four seasons, she shares hard-won lessons on navigating friendships through grief and burnout, tuning into natural rhythms, embracing a child-free life, finding healing in alternative therapies, and reawakening joy through small acts such as dopamine dressing and reconnecting with nature.
